Speech Therapy in Wheaton IL

Hi! I’d like to start by introducing myself as my business is new to the area but so am I! My name is Lorissa, I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist and have been since I received my Master’s degree in 2013. At the time I was living in the Houston, Texas area and started my career in Texas public schools. There, I gained lots of experience treating Pre-K - 12 grade students with a huge variety of communication deficits. Special experience I gained there included learning all about the world of bilingual speech development. You do not have to be a bilingual provider to understand how bilingual issues play in to speech development. [Spoiler: being bilingual is WONDERFUL and it does not cause speech-language disorders.] Anyway, my family and I ended up in Wheaton for my husband’s job in the Spring of 2019 and I decided to jump feet first in to private practice. I hope to grow this practice in to a valuable and reliable resource to this community.
